The region around Garba Tulla has experience recurring drought for over ten years, and many pastoralists have now lost their livelihoods as a result. ActionAid are working on an agricultural and Water Pan project to provide alternative livelihoods to the most vulnerable in the community. \\\"I have 11 children - the oldest is 20 and the youngest is a year. I am 36 years old and have been married for nover 20 years - I got married when I was 12. I am a returnee from Somalia, My parents left Kenya for Somalia in the 70s so I was born there and then came back here about 10 years ago becasue of the war. My husband is from here too and we were together in Somalia. in a place called Koriole. There we were farmers and had around twenty goats. Life was really good for us there. There was also work to be done in the town near us so we could make extra money. We were very comfortable and security was good. But then the governement collapsed and everything went bad. There was looting and violence so we had to run for our lives. We sold everything we could there and crossed the border to come here. So we managed to arrive here with some cash but its all gone now. We got no help from the government when we arrived back but the Islamic Foundation built these houses for us. All houses in this area were built by them for people like use who were forced to leave. I used to make mats and sell them in town and also bought milk from local Somali herdsman to sell in town but have now stopped doing this. Because of the drought the milk died up and now I am concentrating my efforts on the FFA and getting food for my family from this. My hsuband doesn't work so it is up to me now. We are trying to farm a bit upstream - on a small plot we have taken - things like maize and beans. The soil isn't good though so I don't know how it will do. We lack tools and water is a problem. We have had no animals since we left Somalia because we haven't been able to save the money to buy any. Four of my children are in primary school and one in secondary. One of my daughters who is 17 years old has had to leave school and is now working in Nairobi ask a house girl. There was no money to send her to secondary school. I didn't want to send her but had no choice. We know the family she is working with and she sends us around 4000 KS per month which is a big help. I worry about the insecurity in Nairobi and pray that she is safe. My 1st born son who is 20 is still in secondary school. When we left Somalia I needed the help of this eldest daughter in looking after the other children - this is why she dropped out of school. Our priority is our boy going to school. My biggest worry is how to feed my children and to bring them up with what they need. I worry about food for them all and there are times we have no food during the day. As part of the FFA we get food rations in return for our work - this is what we live off but because I have so many children I sometimes have to buy food to make it up because every woman gets the same no matter how many children they have. Food prices have really gone up though and this has created quite a big problem for us. I started to do the FFA programme shortly after I came back from Somalia in 2005. It was very hard for us back then. I didn't know anyone in the community and my children were sick because we had no food. FFA has really helped because at least I know that we will get something every month. My hope is that one day we will have a stable income and that I will be able to look after all of my children properly and that they can all finish scool Of the four that are in primary at the moment two of them have uniform and the other two dont. These two were chased from school yesterday because of this but have gone back today because I promised that I would try and buy these at the weekend. The children get used to now having food and they know that when I don't cook it means there isn't any food. I have no control over the number of children I have - children are god given. I know about what is available in the health centre but I dont believe in this. If there is no food an NGO will come along and give us food. If I can't afford their school fees I hope an NGO or well wisher will come along to help me. \\\"\"},{\"@type\":\"BreadcrumbList\",\"@id\":\"https:\\\/\\\/www.italiaisraele.org\\\/?p=4662#breadcrumb\",\"itemListElement\":[{\"@type\":\"ListItem\",\"position\":1,\"name\":\"Home\",\"item\":\"https:\\\/\\\/www.italiaisraele.org\\\/\"},{\"@type\":\"ListItem\",\"position\":2,\"name\":\"Ma non tutti i bambini sono uguali?\"}]},{\"@type\":\"WebSite\",\"@id\":\"https:\\\/\\\/www.italiaisraele.org\\\/#website\",\"url\":\"https:\\\/\\\/www.italiaisraele.org\\\/\",\"name\":\"News Italia - Israele\",\"description\":\"Italia Israele Today - Magazine\",\"publisher\":{\"@id\":\"https:\\\/\\\/www.italiaisraele.org\\\/#organization\"},\"potentialAction\":[{\"@type\":\"SearchAction\",\"target\":{\"@type\":\"EntryPoint\",\"urlTemplate\":\"https:\\\/\\\/www.italiaisraele.org\\\/?s={search_term_string}\"},\"query-input\":{\"@type\":\"PropertyValueSpecification\",\"valueRequired\":true,\"valueName\":\"search_term_string\"}}],\"inLanguage\":\"it-IT\"},{\"@type\":\"Organization\",\"@id\":\"https:\\\/\\\/www.italiaisraele.org\\\/#organization\",\"name\":\"News Italia - Israele\",\"url\":\"https:\\\/\\\/www.italiaisraele.org\\\/\",\"logo\":{\"@type\":\"ImageObject\",\"inLanguage\":\"it-IT\",\"@id\":\"https:\\\/\\\/www.italiaisraele.org\\\/#\\\/schema\\\/logo\\\/image\\\/\",\"url\":\"https:\\\/\\\/www.italiaisraele.org\\\/wp-content\\\/uploads\\\/2024\\\/02\\\/cropped-cropped-TESTATA-NEWS-2.jpg\",\"contentUrl\":\"https:\\\/\\\/www.italiaisraele.org\\\/wp-content\\\/uploads\\\/2024\\\/02\\\/cropped-cropped-TESTATA-NEWS-2.jpg\",\"width\":1918,\"height\":291,\"caption\":\"News Italia - Israele\"},\"image\":{\"@id\":\"https:\\\/\\\/www.italiaisraele.org\\\/#\\\/schema\\\/logo\\\/image\\\/\"},\"sameAs\":[\"https:\\\/\\\/www.facebook.com\\\/Federazione.Associazioni.Italia.Israele\"]},{\"@type\":\"Person\",\"@id\":\"https:\\\/\\\/www.italiaisraele.org\\\/#\\\/schema\\\/person\\\/a58663d7e92468eb3e7d158e016946cd\",\"name\":\"Redazione\",\"image\":{\"@type\":\"ImageObject\",\"inLanguage\":\"it-IT\",\"@id\":\"https:\\\/\\\/secure.gravatar.com\\\/avatar\\\/fe11715b332cc423bb3991a005da4d50b44647eec21b11abddd059d3deafc450?s=96&d=mm&r=g\",\"url\":\"https:\\\/\\\/secure.gravatar.com\\\/avatar\\\/fe11715b332cc423bb3991a005da4d50b44647eec21b11abddd059d3deafc450?s=96&d=mm&r=g\",\"contentUrl\":\"https:\\\/\\\/secure.gravatar.com\\\/avatar\\\/fe11715b332cc423bb3991a005da4d50b44647eec21b11abddd059d3deafc450?s=96&d=mm&r=g\",\"caption\":\"Redazione\"},\"url\":\"https:\\\/\\\/www.italiaisraele.org\\\/?author=2\"}]}<\/script>\r\n<!-- \/ Yoast SEO plugin. -->","yoast_head_json":{"title":"Ma non tutti i bambini sono uguali? - Federazione Associazioni Italia Israele","robots":{"index":"index","follow":"follow","max-snippet":"max-snippet:-1","max-image-preview":"max-image-preview:large","max-video-preview":"max-video-preview:-1"},"canonical":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/?p=4662","og_locale":"it_IT","og_type":"article","og_title":"Ma non tutti i bambini sono uguali? - Federazione Associazioni Italia Israele","og_description":"di Paolo Macry Il mainstream anti-israeliano e antisemita sta diventando globale. If I can't afford their school fees I hope an NGO or well wisher will come along to help me. \""},{"@type":"BreadcrumbList","@id":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/?p=4662#breadcrumb","itemListElement":[{"@type":"ListItem","position":1,"name":"Home","item":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/"},{"@type":"ListItem","position":2,"name":"Ma non tutti i bambini sono uguali?"}]},{"@type":"WebSite","@id":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/#website","url":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/","name":"News Italia - Israele","description":"Italia Israele Today - Magazine","publisher":{"@id":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/#organization"},"potentialAction":[{"@type":"SearchAction","target":{"@type":"EntryPoint","urlTemplate":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/?s={search_term_string}"},"query-input":{"@type":"PropertyValueSpecification","valueRequired":true,"valueName":"search_term_string"}}],"inLanguage":"it-IT"},{"@type":"Organization","@id":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/#organization","name":"News Italia - Israele","url":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/","logo":{"@type":"ImageObject","inLanguage":"it-IT","@id":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/#\/schema\/logo\/image\/","url":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/cropped-cropped-TESTATA-NEWS-2.jpg","contentUrl":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/cropped-cropped-TESTATA-NEWS-2.jpg","width":1918,"height":291,"caption":"News Italia - Israele"},"image":{"@id":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/#\/schema\/logo\/image\/"},"sameAs":["https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Federazione.Associazioni.Italia.Israele"]},{"@type":"Person","@id":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/#\/schema\/person\/a58663d7e92468eb3e7d158e016946cd","name":"Redazione","image":{"@type":"ImageObject","inLanguage":"it-IT","@id":"https:\/\/secure.gravatar.com\/avatar\/fe11715b332cc423bb3991a005da4d50b44647eec21b11abddd059d3deafc450?s=96&d=mm&r=g","url":"https:\/\/secure.gravatar.com\/avatar\/fe11715b332cc423bb3991a005da4d50b44647eec21b11abddd059d3deafc450?s=96&d=mm&r=g","contentUrl":"https:\/\/secure.gravatar.com\/avatar\/fe11715b332cc423bb3991a005da4d50b44647eec21b11abddd059d3deafc450?s=96&d=mm&r=g","caption":"Redazione"},"url":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/?author=2"}]}},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4662","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=4662"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4662\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/media\/4663"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=4662"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=4662"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.italiaisraele.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=4662"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
